What do you mean by professionalism??

Being a professional does not mean looking like one. But it takes more effort to become a professional than you would think. As a professional, it means being present and reliable. You must also attain high standards and set goals that push you to become the professional you are today.

It shows you care for the job you hold, and it shows you acknowledge every single value that goes into that position and that you are passionate about maintaining that role. And to add to that, you hold yourself accountable for your actions, thoughts, and words.

Today I will explain what values you must be aware of when in the workplace.

Why does professionalism apply to the creative industry?

It applies to the creative industry because the professional involved in the project must stay dedicated to the work that goes into it. And make nothing is held back in terms of content.

It shows commitment to the project you are doing. And you must maintain that as much as possible, even if it means asking for help. Professionals also must maintain honesty with team members.

For game development, you will be working with more professionals than two. All members must stay committed and connected to the project regardless. They also must make up time if they miss out on delivering some content. If disputes and conflicts arise, All team members must work together to devise a solution. And those responsible must hold themselves accountable.

Why should we show respect to our peers

On this planet, we all want respect, and it is earned when the individual returns that respect. Being in the workplace myself ensures I show all my colleagues the same care I would want to be given to myself. It is essential because once respect is directed to an individual, you will be given that same respect back. And that respect can form a long-lasting connection.

Disrespect is not allowed in the workplace. If acted on, you may face disciplinary action for your mishaps. And you, as the employee, should hold yourself accountable.
It applies to the games industry and the integrity put in place to ensure that we treat each other somewhat in the workplace. So make sure you treat those with respect. Or there will be consequences

Upholding integrity in the workplace

In any professional setting, integrity is essential. An example of this would be workplace integrity, which benefits the business you work with and yourself as an individual.

You will only gain respect if you show your honesty as a reliable person. You will also gain further recognition for your positive actions, words, and thoughts. Doing so also builds trust toward peers, who can trust you as a professional to offer project guidance and input.

It also promotes growth in your career journey and may open up bigger and better opportunities down the line.

Workplace integrity is also essential in developing a new game in the games industry. Team members must be honest, no matter the challenge they face. It is better to be honest than to lie about your struggles. And if you show honesty as an employee and developer, you will be given the respect and recognition you deserve.
