They are put in place to protect the rights of the creator's work and are under that specific "IP." An example would be the Mario games. All the art, games, music, data, and merchandise go under Nintendo's Mario IP.  Why Ip’s matter  IPs matter because they ensure the creator gains the proper recognition for their hard-earned work.  If someone carbon copied that work, you could file them for a copyright claim. You, as the creator, own the rights to your creation, which will be under the copyright act.  You can use the trademark symbol to symbolize your IP; no one else has the right to steal it. But it takes more effort to become a professional than you would think. As a professional, it means being present and reliable. You must also attain high standards and set goals that push you to become the professional you are today.  It shows you care for the job you hold, and it shows you acknowledge every single value that goes into that position and that you are passionate about maintaining that role. We network with our families, friends, colleagues at work, or maybe with an employer. All these networks become connections. I believe if you have the skillset, you are more than welcome to become a freelancer. A freelancer can be anything for art, music, writing, or content creation. There are so many roles you could go to when you start freelancing.  It has always been my art that represents me as a freelancer. I sell products in my shop and open up for commissions in the summer.  Freelancing also applies to the arts of game development, and it is a method used by indie developers to bring a team of people together.
